David Falconer got another pleasant surprise today. But it was tinged with mixed emotions. First, he was presented with his trophy for the 2013 Seniors Open; only recently recovered from storage. It is a model of Stephenson's Rocket - perhaps a tribute to David's speed around the court.
The sad news, though, is that David will not be able to defend his title in 2014 - the cut-off age for Seniors has been raised to 55 from 50. Never mind, David. Your time will come again.
